The city has a new indoor aquatic center, five 18-hole golf courses within 20 miles, and numerous motel and RV accommodations Plus a Disc Golf Course in the Show Low City Park. Boating and fishing are popular in many lakes and streams in the area, including Rainbow Lake, Show Low Lake, White Mountain Lake, and Fools Hollow Lake Recreation Area.

A winter sports complex, Sunrise Ski Resort, located 30 miles east of Pinetop-Lakeside on the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation, attracts skiers from around the southwest as well as internationally with its well developed slopes and facilities.
